Concerning her indisposition, Roze Mapleson's singing of [Bizet's] Carmen in her place, her offer to sing [Thomas's] Mignon in Mapleson's place, noting her various roles and engagements, mentioning the anniversary of the death of Hermann Goetz, who wrote his very last role for her on his dying bed--an aria at the end of the last act of The Taming of the Shrew, "which I alone possess"--, saying that she and her husband leave for Africa early in January [1907], mentioning Carl Rosa, etc., etc.
